Matlab 6.5 is now available on Stardec-research cluster. It can be found from /usr/local/matlab6.5/bin/matlab but it runs only on some of the machines. The old Matlab 5.3 is still available, can be found from /usr/local/matlab5.3/bin/matlab and can be run on all machines.

Limitations

Stardec is not set up for interactive work, like program development, interactive analysis, web browsing, but for running scripts and programs for simulation and problem-solving.

Users are asked to use GNQS.

Your home directory cannot exceed 100MB. If you have big files you must use /scratch1 or /scratch2. These disks should also be used for active input/output. The backup is done only for the home directories. The files on the /scratch1 and /scratch2 are temporary files for computations and not for storage. They are deleted by the system after some period.
